Who We Are

The true measure of progress is how well we lift those who start with the least opportunities, through the power of education and support”

Founded in 2007 under the visionary leadership of the late Mr. S.K. Shahi, CSRL (Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership) is a registered society committed to the social upliftment of society through education and skill development. Since its establishment, CSRL has been at the forefront of promoting educational excellence, believing that education is the most powerful tool for social change. Our initiatives aim to bridge the gap between underprivileged communities and corporate support, ensuring that deserving students have access to opportunities to succeed. Through our flagship initiatives—CSRL Super 30, school-based projects, and skill development programs—we are committed to empowering students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

By providing rigorous academic training, dedicated mentorship, and holistic development, we enable our students to secure admissions to prestigious institutions and build meaningful careers.

Our work extends beyond academics. CSRL’s skill development efforts focus on equipping individuals with practical, market-relevant skills to thrive in today’s competitive job landscape. Strategic collaborations with corporates and partner organizations strengthen our ability to provide critical resources, infrastructure, and real-world opportunities for our beneficiaries.

Bharat Thakre, Our Core Volunteer

Bharat Thakre has been associated with CSRL since 2008, providing over sixteen years of sustained strategic guidance and institutional systems leadership. An operations and supply chain leader with global experience at GE in India and Amazon in the United States, he brings expertise in AI-enabled optimization, large-scale systems design, and enterprise scalability.

He advises CSRL on performance benchmarking, capacity planning, and organizational effectiveness as the institution expanded nationally. His long-term involvement has also supported strategic partnerships and resource mobilization efforts that contributed to institutional strengthening and program sustainability.

During this period, CSRL has reached more than 184,000 students and sustained strong placement outcomes in India’s most competitive institutions. True impact is reflected not only in scale, but in the quiet transformation of aspiration into achievement in institutions that grow stronger so students can grow further, and in systems that ensure opportunity reaches those who have long stood at its margins.
